Application overview

Xenrad is a web radiology workflow. Studies arrive from imaging equipment. Staff triage and verify them. Radiologists review and report. Outside systems exchange clinical data through FHIR, HL7, and MPPS.

You do not need every area on day one. Start with the path your job takes.

Worklist

The worklist is Horizon’s home screen. It is a live table of studies for your organization. Filter by status, date, modality, or patient. Open a study for detail. Hand work to the next step.

Every study carries a status: New, Ready, Reporting, Finalized. The table updates as that status changes.

Lite does not have this worklist or those statuses. Lite’s study list is a browser, not a reading floor.

Study detail

Clicking a Horizon study shows imaging metadata, the linked patient, and the actions available at that stage. Depending on permissions you can correct demographics, mark the study ready for reporting, and open Prism.

Prism

Prism is the diagnostic viewer. It opens on the study you selected. You do not type study UIDs by hand. Multi-viewport layouts, window and level, measurements, annotations, and optional segmentation live here when your site enables them.

Horizon can also show shared notes and follow another reader when that site uses collaboration. Lite opens the same viewer for images and local measurements. It does not run Horizon notes or follow.

Patients

The Horizon patient profile holds demographics and free-text medical history. You can reach it from a study or open it directly. If another study for the same patient is already Ready, demographic edits lock until that study moves forward. That stops a report about to start from picking up a silent identity change.

Reporting

Horizon reports are structured documents in named sections. The system saves as you write. When the report is complete, a permitted user finalizes it. Finalization locks the content and moves the study to Finalized.

Lite has no reporting floor.

Site administration

Horizon administrators manage sites, devices, and API keys. API keys decide which outside systems can connect and which protocols they may use.

Sessions and the outside world

Users sign in with site-scoped permissions. What you can edit depends on your role at that site. External integrations use API keys, not your interactive login.

Imaging arrives over DICOM. FHIR R4 and HL7 v2.5.1 handle patient and clinical data around that imaging. MPPS reports procedure-step state. Those feeds complement each other. None replaces the others.

Xenrad Lite

Lite is for teams that mainly need study browsing and the viewer. Logins are separate from Horizon even when the email matches. Your administrator shares Xenrad Lite (https://lite.stg.xenrad.io).
