Reporting

This page is Horizon. Lite has no reporting floor.

Reports in Horizon are structured documents attached to a study. They live in named sections, save as you work, and lock when finalized.

How reporting ties to study status

A report is either draft or completed. The study mirrors that. Reporting means a draft exists. Finalized means the report is completed and the study is closed from ordinary reporting.

Getting into a report

Someone marks the study Ready after confirming the patient and study. That is the signal it is clear to read. A reporter opens the study and starts writing, or reopens an existing draft. That moves the study into Reporting. Work happens in sections. When the report is complete, the reporter finalizes it. The report becomes completed, the study becomes Finalized, and both are read-only in normal flows.

Writing

Each section has a title and rich text. Edit content freely. Reorder or adjust sections when the UI for your build allows it. Watch the autosave indicator. On a shaky network, wait for “saved” before you leave the page.

Finalization

Once you finalize, the report is permanently completed for normal user flows and the study moves to Finalized. External systems reading DiagnosticReport over FHIR see that completed content. If your organization needs an addendum later, follow local policy. Default product behavior treats finalization as the last state for that reporting episode.

Permissions

Starting and editing a report needs the site’s reporting permission. Viewing a finalized report needs a view-reports permission or a role that always sees completed work. Finalizing is usually limited to radiologists or senior roles. Exact names depend on your deployment.

If something blocks you

If you cannot open a report, check that the study is Ready or already Reporting. If you cannot finalize, check permission and that required sections are complete. If you cannot edit after finalization, that is expected.
